These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Wallett mobile application and website (the “Services”), provided by Avenor Sdn Bhd 202601020679 (1682776-H) (“we” or “us”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. What Wallett is
Wallett is a digital platform that lets you view and manage pawn tickets issued by our licensed partner pawnbrokers, renew them, pay interest online and, when available, prepare redemptions.
Wallett is not a pawnbroker and does not lend money. Every pawn contract is between you and the partner pawnbroker named on your pawn ticket, and is governed by the Pawnbrokers Act 1972 and the terms on that ticket. If these Terms conflict with your pawn ticket on a matter about your pawn, the pawn ticket prevails.
2. Who can use Wallett
To use Wallett you must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid MyKad and be able to enter into a binding contract.
3. Your account
- Register with your own mobile number and give us accurate information.
- Verify your identity in person with your MyKad at a partner branch before your tickets are linked to your account.
- Keep your device, PIN and one-time passwords (OTPs) secure, and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us immediately if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Using the Services
- Estimates are a guide only. The final loan amount is decided by the partner pawnbroker after your item is inspected and weighed at the branch.
- Appointments depend on branch availability.
- Renewals are subject to the partner pawnbroker’s approval and the terms on your pawn ticket. A renewal is complete only when your updated ticket appears in the app.
- Redemption in the app is not available yet. Until it is, please redeem at your branch as usual.
- Reminders are a convenience. You remain responsible for renewing or redeeming before your pawn ticket’s due date, even if a reminder is late or does not arrive.
5. Payments and fees
- Interest and other payments are made by FPX through our payment gateway.
- Each FPX payment made in the app incurs a transaction fee, which is shown before you confirm the payment.
- A payment counts as received when it is confirmed by the payment gateway and recorded against your ticket. If a payment fails or is reversed, it is not applied to your ticket.
- If you think a payment was made in error or has not been applied, contact us with the details listed on our Support page. Any refund is returned to the bank account the payment came from.
- The interest rate and charges on your pawn are set by your partner pawnbroker in line with the law, and are shown on your pawn ticket.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use another person’s identity or MyKad;
- use the Services for fraud, money laundering or any other unlawful purpose;
- interfere with the Services, or try to access them without permission; or
- copy, modify or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
7. Intellectual property
The Wallett name, logo, app and website content belong to us or our licensors. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes only.
8. Third-party services
FPX, banks, our payment gateway and the app stores are provided by third parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or for what they do.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Services available, but we may suspend them for maintenance, for security, or for reasons beyond our control. We may also change, add or remove features.
10. Our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss; and
- we are not liable for loss caused by events beyond our reasonable control, by third-party services, or by your failure to keep your account secure.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 where it applies.
11. Suspending or closing your account
You can close your account at any time — see Delete your account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect you or others from fraud. Closing your Wallett account does not end your pawn contracts with the partner pawnbroker.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using the Services after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute.
14. Language
These Terms are available in English and Bahasa Malaysia. If the two versions differ, the English version prevails.
